An empty state is the first thing a new user sees on a screen: no pages, no leads, nothing connected yet. It has one job: say what will be there, and how it gets there.
These are thirteen I drew for LanderLab, now redrawn in code with more care: pages, templates, blocks, images, domains, workflows, API keys, Cloudflare, integrations, team, search, the AI creator and split tests. Each one has its own colour, so the wheel goes once round the colour circle as it turns.
Every drawing moves the way its screen works. A page builds itself, a key drops into its pack and turns, a plug goes in and leads run along the cable, a workflow lights up step by step. Turn the wheel with the arrows, the dots, the arrow keys or a drag. Press the one in front to open it on its own, with its title and button.
